Shipwrecks and Seascapes

Explore a semester of research

Home: Welcome

What is this?

Welcome to the Shipwrecks and Seascapes research website! Here we have compiled all the research and writing we have completed for the Dhakira Center for Heritage over our spring term at New York University in Abu Dhabi. Due to COVID-19, we are unable to have an exhibition of our work in person, so we have created this website to permanently document our time together as a class. In this site you will find our NAS report, an individual research blog about dhow culture, and also an archive of our field notes and journals from the semester. We hope that you enjoy exploring our website and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
